The Massachusetts School Building Authority (the "MSBA") is pleased to announce the 2026 Statement of Interest ("SOI") submittal period for the Core Program is now open.
The Accelerated Repair Program, which is intended for the partial or full replacement of roofs, windows/doors and heat pump conversions in existing school facilities, will again be accepting SOIs for consideration in January 2027, consistent with its biennial openings.
Please note there have been changes to the MSBA’s SOI template that are in effect for the 2026 SOI filing period:
- If the district submitted a Core Program SOI in 2025 and intends to pre-populate its SOI(s) in 2026, changes to the SOI template may impact responses to certain questions.
- Any supporting materials required for the selection of Statutory Priority 1, and Priority 3, and/or any supplemental material a district elects to submit with the SOI must be uploaded in the SOI system in order to submit an SOI. Hard copies will no longer be accepted.

SOI Important Dates
- The deadline for submitting Core Program SOIs, intended for new construction, addition, and/or renovation projects is Friday, April 17, 2026 at 11:59 PM.
MSBA Grant Program Information
The MSBA's grant program is a non-entitlement, competitive program. The grants are distributed by the MSBA Board of Directors based on need and urgency, as expressed by districts and validated by the MSBA. The Core Program is intended for new construction, addition, and/or renovation projects. The MSBA completes an extensive review of available information for all submitted Statement of Interest (“SOI”) for the Core Program.
Submitting an SOI is the critical first step in the MSBA’s program for school building construction, addition, and/or renovation or repair grants. It allows districts to inform the MSBA of deficiencies that may exist in a local school facility and how those deficiencies inhibit the delivery of the district’s educational program.
